Odoo Experience 2020 was held online from 30 September to 1 October 2020. On day two, the keynote by Fabien, Odoo's founder set out the company's vision and strategy.
Odoo's predecessor was founded by Fabien in 2005. From 10 employees in 2007 it has grown to 1,000 today, at an annual growth rate of over 67%.
The people involved with Odoo
1,000 Odoo employees, 41,800 people working at 3,000 partners, 35,000 people involved in the community and 6,600,000 Odoo users are all involved with Odoo.

Odoo's rivals
Oracle's chairman, Larry.
Oracle Fusion has 6,000 customers and Oracle Netsuite 15,000, for 21,000 in total.
Odoo, by contrast, has 6,600,000 users!

Where NetSuite has 30 applications, Odoo has 60 core applications and more than 26,000 in the app store. That is the largest number of business applications in the world, and most of them are open source.

Odoo V14.0
14.0 is the best release yet. In version 13.0 we released 13 new applications. In 14.0 there is only one new application, but in its place usability and performance are much improved.

Where Odoo development goes next
The focus will be on developing features that please users, rather than features aimed at increasing revenue.
High added value will be delivered at a reasonable price.

Odoo's positioning in the ERP industry
With a marketing department of only 20 people, Odoo may be weak on branding, but on features, technical quality, price and how easy it is for users, it considers itself well ahead of other ERPs.

Within five years there will be 400,000 people working in Odoo-related jobs. E-learning is being pushed to train the people who will fill them.

The difference between Odoo and a conventional ERP is that Odoo's users are happy!

Odoo's future looks exciting.
There is still plenty of room for growth in business systems for small and medium-sized companies, so Odoo should keep growing from here!
