OpenERP is becoming “Odoo”

The new logo, spelling “odoo” in four rings with only the first one in purple

It has just been announced at the OpenERP partner session that the OpenERP brand name is changing to “Odoo”.

The reasoning seems to have been that what the product covers now goes beyond the usual bounds of an ERP, and the gap between the features still to be released and the image the name carries was not a desirable one. (They said, of course, that they will keep strengthening the ERP side as well.)

Here is the announcement from OpenERP, now Odoo.

So on this website too we will move over to the new brand, “Odoo”, as we go.

The new name has not quite settled with me personally, but I dare say it will grow familiar. What do you make of it?

If you like solving problems

If you want to use open source to move companies' DX forward for real,
why not do it at Quartile?
