Our OSCG colleagues from Shanghai came over to Hong Kong for the Easter long weekend!

Getting to Hong Kong from the mainland has become easy in the past few years if you obtain a travel permit, but for most of them it was a first visit.

Around 70% of the Hong Kong team are consultants, whereas around 70% of the Shanghai team are systems engineers and programmers. Given what each location's market needs and what its people are good at, the split works out that way of its own accord. Our current project in Germany runs the same way: consultants sent from Hong Kong, development done in Shanghai.

On their first evening here we all had dinner over seafood in Sai Kung.

We work on projects together without seeing much of one another day to day, and there is an understanding that only deepens by meeting and talking face to face — so we came away feeling we really should make the occasion for this now and then.

They seem to have taken the standard tourist route, Ocean Park and the Tian Tan Buddha and so on, and went back to Shanghai having enjoyed it thoroughly, with the weather on their side. Next it is the Hong Kong team's turn to head out to Shanghai. And we would love to get to Tokyo too.
